Studio Owner & Artistic Director of Fueled & Aflame Dance Company

CARLA CROWE is the founding director of FUELED & AFLAME DANCE MINISTRIES, a non-profit arts and education organization that promotes movement as a means of communication to God, with God, and about God. Fueled & Aflame began out of Carla's passion to educate and impart a lifestyle of worship in students of all ages so that they can learn how to use dance to deepen their relationship with God and impact the lives of the people around them. Today Fueled & Aflame Dance Ministries is home to a Christian dance studio located in Springfield, Ohio, a professional touring company, and a Jr. performing company. Fueled & Aflame Dance Company has been performing Nationally since 2001 in churches, schools, community concerts, outreach events, and at several Project Dance events (such as NYC, Houston, and Kansas City). Carla is also the producer for PROJECT DANCE DETROIT

Carla began studying dance in her hometown of Bellbrook, OH at the age of 12. She also participated in Bellbrook High School's Color Guard and Winter Guard where she was recognized as a soloist and contributing choreographer. She received the honor of being named Color Guard Captain during her Senior Year of High School. Carla then went on to receive a B.S. in Dance Performance from Eastern Michigan University in 2000. There, she gained experience in many different styles of dance including modern, ballet, African, jazz, hip-hop, and tap, as well as musical theater, acting, and voice. She also had many opportunities to take master classes from well-known professional dancers and choreographers and attend workshops and conferences such as the American College Dance Festival in Chicago and Detroit.

After college, Carla traveled throughout Eastern Europe choreographing for and performing with a missions organization called Christian Arts Outreach International. She also studied under Randall Flynn of Dance Ad Deum, Bill Wade of Inlet Dance Theater, Cheryl Cutlip of Project Dance, and Mona Enna of Storling Dance Theater. Carla has gained more than 20 years of teaching and performance experience. Since moving back home to Ohio in 2006, she has been pursuing education and development in worship dance and prophetic dance ministries. Her passion and calling is to "teach dancers how to worship and worshippers how to dance".
