Studio Policies

Spectator Policy

In order to provide a safe and productive environment for our students, Fueled and Aflame Dance Studio does not allow spectators in our classes except for the open viewing classes which are held twice a year. Additionally, because the studio is located in a private residence, friends and family members providing transportation for our students will need to find a way to occupy their time outside of the studio. If you choose to wait in your car, we can provide you with a wireless access code so that you can surf the web on a laptop or other wireless device. Or, we would be happy to provide a list of local businesses and activities upon request.

Studio Office Access

We understand that from time to time students may need to be dropped off early and picked up late. Students may also have a situation where there will be an hour or more waiting time between their scheduled classes. In these circumstances, registered students may be granted access to the studio office so that we can provide them with a safe place to rest, wait, and/or study. Studio Office access is granted on a case by case basis and open during Studio Operating Hours ONLY. Computer access is limited to teachers and staff, however we would be happy to provide a wireless access code upon request for student-provided internet-ready devices. Please be advised that the Studio Office is not a lobby for parents and friends providing transportation and that the Studio Office will be unsupervised while class is in session.

Placement & Promotion

Fueled & Aflame Studio is committed to the technical and artistic growth of it’s students. All students are placed according to skill level as determined by our instructors. Students will not necessarily progress to the next level on an annual basis. Several factors are considered when deciding what level to place each student in including technical ability, strength, age, maturity, attendance, and commitment. It is essential that the body be in proper alignment and the muscles well strengthened before undertaking more complex exercises. Please do not be concerned if your child repeats a level of training. We may require 3-5 years of level I & II classes before allowing students to take advanced level classes.

Attendance

In order for a student to reach their fullest potential they must commit to regular class attendance. Please be advised that attendance will be monitored. Missed classes will not only slow your child’s progress, but the progress of the entire class. In classes with additional performing opportunities, missed classes may result in your child not being able to participate in the performance. Please arrive 5 minutes prior to class to put your things away and change your shoes. Do not enter the studio if the “Class in Session” sign is posted on the door. Students must be picked up immediately following class. If you will be absent from class please email the studio to notify us ahead of time. ·Make-up classes are only available when the studio is notified of the absence prior to the class start time. ·Make-up classes must be scheduled within 4 weeks of the missed class date. At this time we are unable to offer make-up classes for Princess Ballet or Dance Fit Fusion.

Inclement Weather Policy

If the studio will be closed due to inclement weather, we will send an email as well as post a message on our studio class schedule page. We do not credit, refund or pro-rate tuition for classes cancelled due to poor weather.

Communication

In an effort to minimize costs, Fueled & Aflame Dance Studio will utilize email and our website as the main source of communication. If you do not have internet access please let us know and we will make every effort to connect with you by phone or postal mail.
